Practice Safari

The cheetah's were playing with each other. What's cuter than a baby rhino?
My favorite picture is the giraffe.

My fortune

We had Chinese food today at lunch and guess what my fortune read?

"A bold and dashing adventure is in your future within the year."

Pretty prophetic, huh? Beats the fortune I received once that said "Oops....wrong Cookie." =)

Our shopping cart at Cabela's! Sooooo much money in soooo little time!! =)

No trip is complete without shopping!!! We decided to head to Dundee, MI for a little quality time at Cabela's. Here we are in front! Needless to say, the time was well worth it and we got LOTS and LOTS of stuff!!

No trip to Africa is complete without vaccinations! Those that are recommended are yellow fever, hepatitis a & b and typhoid. In addition, malaria prophylaxis is STRONGLY recommended.
This photo is a self-portrait of my band aids after receiving the above vaccinations: L-R: Hep A, typhoid and yellow fever. I was sore for a few days - but nothing that would kill me!

Green stands for the forests and agriculture. Gold symbolizes the country's mineral wealth. Blue represents the sea.

The Beginning

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog! This blog is devoted to our trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar in September 2007. The parties involved are: Me (Bonne), my mom Karen, my friend Brian and our friend Ben. We (Bonne & Karen) live in Ohio and Brian and Ben live in Florida. We are using 2Afrika (as seen in Budget Travel) as our company and we have been assisted by Lisa at Travel Escapes as our liaison and sounding board! This is a birthday gift to ourselves - my 35th, Mom's 60th and Brian and Ben's EARLY birthdays as well. Enjoy our updates - we will have much more later!
